Web Design Agency - $10k/mo

Web Design Agency - $10k/mo

This guy paid me $100 a week for an entire year...
His mission: move out of his 1 bedroom with his wife and 2 kids.
At the time he couldn't afford the full amount to work with me, or any pay plan.
So I made something custom, because I saw something...
Let me give you some context:
  1. He was working a graveyard shift job that he hated
  1. He had been trying for years to get his web design agency off the ground
  1. He was desperate to get a house and provide a great life for his family
  1. He had no sales experience, no background in marketing and didn't know anything about getting clients
Here's what we did to get him to $10k a month and then $20k a month in 90 days...
1 - This guy had skills, the websites he made were incredible. But he was relying on Google or dumb luck to get clients.
The first thing we did was set up his socials directing people to a small portfolio (wouldn't suggest this now, but it worked then).
2 - We then gave him KPIs of 20 New Reach outs a day and 20 Follow ups, we even made him get a physical tally counter.
We built out a simple script. Here's what made the big difference though...
3 - This guy was from a blue collar part of town, and he was brought up that way. Instead of thinking that was a disadvantage because most web design guys have some fancy coding background or have been doing it for years...
We used that to our advantage and specifically targeted blue collar, construction and trade type businesses.
He knew how to talk to them, he understood their needs and he spoke their "language". Which was his biggest advantage.
4 - We then created a simple 1 a day content strategy that involved 3 elements: Competence Demonstration, Shifting Perspectives and Memes... yes Memes, specifically blue collar memes. This generated a lot of engagement and sharing between the people he wanted to sign as clients. So his lead gen issue was taken care of almost instantly.
5 - We built out a simple CRM, so every single person who "touched" his socials was then contacted. He was hungry so he upped his KPIs to 50 reach outs and 50 Follow ups a day. Which generated momentum a lot quicker.
Now this guy hated me 3 weeks in.
He had a lot of mindset stuff we had to work through. He said "Jason, nothing is working".
And the evidence he saw would suggest so. But we worked through that and I told him to be patient.
10 days later he signed his first $5k deal.
Another 10 days later he signed 2 $3k deals and got an extra $1.5k from the first guy.
He was pretty happy with that, so it gave him motivation to push a little harder.
We decided to up the quality of his work, content and DMs, which lead to him charging $5-$8k per deal.
He hit $10k and then flew passed $20k.
Then a few months go by and he DMs me saying: "I just signed a $20k deal for a website project"
Something he never thought was possible while he was working the graveyard shift.
Eventually after he obviously quit the graveyard shift job, he bought a house near his extended family.
Where his kids got their own room and his Wife had a beautiful closet that she talked about... a lot.
I didn't come up with some wild strategy, nor did I "reinvent the wheel".
I created new standards, new processes and ultimately a new identity, that this guy executed on DAILY.
For me, that's the difference between those who win and those who don't.
Standards, accountability and having the right person kick your ass every day.
That's what I'll do if you work with me. And that's why if you stick with it, you'll win.
I've made the barrier to work with me ridiculously simple, because I've reflected a lot, and my favorite times in business was when I was working with hungry, determined people like this client... who aren't always in the best position to commit to something big right away.
